Jaycee Towers in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is an 18-story affordable senior housing project, originally developed in 1970, recently completed a major renovation. The property was in very poor condition with only 130 of the 190 apartments occupied. Renovations including new interior finishes throughout, upgraded common areas, a new laundry room, and new HVAC systems. Energy efficiency improvements qualified for rebates from the TVA, offsetting costs and allowing the developer to further improve the property. The projects has been certified under Enterprise Green Communities, assuring a healthy, high performance project. Over 80% of the units will be rented to residents who are at or below 60% of the area mean income. Wishrock Housing Partners is developed the project with the National Housing Trust, two organizations specializing in affordable housing development throughout the country.
